These women will carry twin likes but siblings at the same time.
You achieve your objective of having twins….
having two children born and reared.the same time without complications of multiple pregnancies.
This is a creative way of achieving healthy twins like babies.
After waiting for a long time.,
Many couples prefer to have twins or Triplets. Some want surrogate twins.
We can understand. One baby is a bundle of joy, but many are more adorable.
Understanding the process involved will help you make an informed decision.
This dream is better achieved through surrogate mothers.
Why Patients demand for multiple pregnancy?
Most believe it is better to manage the physical demands of two babies at a time, than one after another.
Some believe using a surrogate mother to carry two babies at a time can be more economical as they won’t need to look for another one in the future.
Why Multiple pregnancies a concern to healthcare givers
- Preterm labor and birth: 60 out of 100 twins or multiple pregnancies go into early labor and delivery. These babies are born when the internal. organs are not yet mature for outside life. Some babies with low birth weight…less than 2.5kg. They will need Neonatal intensive care to keep them warm, fed and fight infection.
- Pregnancy-induced Hypertension. The risk of Gestational Hypertension and placental abruption- early detachment of placental is higher in multiple pregnancies than pregnancy with one baby.
- Anaemia in Pregnancy is twice seen in Multiple. pregnancies compared to pregnancy with one baby.
- Birth defects like Spinal bifida.and hearts problems are as twice common in multiple pregnancies.
- The Risk of miscarriages increases in multiple pregnancies.
- Twins to twins transfusion when they share the same placental. Blood is diverted from one twin baby to the other one. The receiving twins has so much blood and develop heart overload while his brother or sister is short of blood.
- Post Partum Hemorrhage: Large placental area and over distension of Uterus make mother prone to heavy bleeding after birth.
- Abnormal Amniotic fluids are common in multiple pregnancies.
- The chances of death in the first year of Birth is 23.6 out of 1000 live births for multiple pregnancies compared to 5.4 out of 1000 for single pregnancy.
Why taking to much risks after waiting for a long time to have babies?
My advise is this:
If you have many qualities embryos, after transfer, we can freeze others ……Having embryos now and still save the rest for future use.
There is no difference in IVF(In vitro Fertilization) success rate between fresh and frozen embryos.
Period of frozen does not affect success rate either
Frozen embryos have a 60 to 70 % chance of having normal genetic materials babies.
Why not try Twiblings?
Each baby will grow up as a singleton without complications as twins.
What are the takeaways here?
Multiple pregnancies are a concern for all the parties involved in Fertility treatment due many complications involved. The risks of Preterm labour and birth, pregnancy induced hypertension, placental abruption, anaemia, postpartum haemorrhage, birth defect, neonatal intensive care unit admission and infant mortality rate and miscarriages are high.
Why not consider having your excess embryos frozen? This is creating embryos for present and future use at the same time.
You can also try twinblings having twin-like siblings. Pregnancy carried, babies born and reared at the same time,
It is a creative way of avoiding many complications of multiple pregnancies while achieving your objective of having twins.
